Single or twin ferrules: how to prepare the right enquiry
Tell the supplier whether the connection is intended for one conductor or two. For a twin-ferrule enquiry, write the size of each conductor explicitly, such as “2 × [specified size]”, rather than giving only an unexplained total.

Separate the questions before comparing prices
| Check | Information to request |
|---|---|
| Conductor count | One or two conductors? Include the intended terminal reference so its permitted arrangement can be checked. |
| Individual size | State each conductor size; do not assume that adding two sizes identifies a compatible single-ferrule part. |
| Tooling | Ask for the proposed tool and its stated twin-ferrule capacity. A single-ferrule range is not the whole answer. |
| Sample identification | Label the ferrule model, both conductor specifications and proposed tool on the sample approval record. |
Before approving the purchase
If the supplier offers a single ferrule as a replacement for a twin part, pause the substitution and request documented suitability. A lower price does not settle the conductor arrangement, ferrule geometry or receiving-terminal requirements.
What to send next
Use separate RFQ lines for single and twin variants even when the stated conductor sizes look similar. Installation approval belongs to the responsible technical team.
